Gum Grafting

Scaling and Root Planning

Pocket Reduction Surgery

Osseous surgery, sometimes referred to as pocket reduction surgery, refers to a number of different surgeries aimed at gaining access to the tooth roots to remove tartar and disease-causing bacteria. Its goal is to reshape deformities and remove pockets in the alveolar bone surrounding the teeth, helping to treat more advanced periodontal diseases.

Guided Bone and Tissue Regeneration

This treatment is used to stabilize endangered teeth and involves thoroughly cleaning the pocket and applying biologic materials, growth factors, and membranes to stimulate natural bone and tissue regeneration.

Laser Periodontal Surgery

What does periodontal treatment cost?

The fee for periodontal treatment can vary considerably depending on the complexity and length of treatment. An approximate fee can usually be determined at the initial visit, but on occasion, some initial treatment or further diagnostics must be completed before the final treatment planning can be established. Our philosophy of practice is to treat as conservatively as possible to attain treatment goals.

Will insurance cover the costs?

As we are currently not an in-network provider with any insurance company, we require payment in full for your services, and after your claim has been processed by your insurance company, you will be paid directly or, if payment is sent to our office, we will write a refund check and send it to you within 30 days. Since our work is not dictated by insurance providers, we are able to provide you with the care you need, rather than the restrictive care insurance requires.

Will I need surgery?

Not everyone needs periodontal surgery. If treated early, gum disease can be controlled without surgery. We will make recommendations based on your individual situation. Our philosophy of practice is to treat as conservatively as possible to attain treatment goals.

Can my teeth be saved?

The recent advances in periodontal treatment allow us to treat most teeth successfully.

What if I don’t have gum treatment?

Periodontal disease is a progressive, painless infection. Delays can cause further bone loss and more expense. If your teeth are lost, replacements are never as effective as your own natural teeth.

I had gum grafts on my two front teeth with Dr. Weinstein, and aesthetically, they didn't turn out well. I was also in pain for 8 months post-op, and they thought I might have permanent nerve damage. Thankfully, the pain has resolved, but I'm left with two differently shaped and unnaturally thick gums, which has shattered my self-confidence. These are my two front teeth and look odd now that the gums are different shapes.I tried speaking with Dr. Weinstein about it multiple times, and he claimed that my gums were different shapes to begin with and that this was an excellent outcome. I have photos, though, where my gums were evenly shaped before the recession. I also have visible scarring in the gum tissue, further making me feel self-conscious.This office was the most expensive consult I had, and I chose them because of Dr. Weinstein's reputation and experience. It's so disappointing that my teeth - which I used to love - are now making me feel so self-conscious.I will say the staff here is absolutely wonderful and responsive, and I wish I could give them five stars. However, after my outcome, I cannot recommend this place.

I recommend Advanced Dental. I am a dental hygienist and I first heard about the office from a continuing education course taught by Dr Weistein.I was treated by Dr Kaminsky. She explained everything to me thoroughly and always made sure to answer any of my questions. I am very happy with the tissue graft she did.The assistants I had were Silas, Kira, and Jessica (I believe). They were all amazing and highly skilled. Silas put me at ease and has a great bed-side manner. Kira made sure to give me a run down of what we were doing that day and made sure to clarify everything.I received reminder texts for the appointments that were helpful but it would have been also helpful to get the address again and a reminder on what parking garages to use in the text as well.I got great care here and recommend this office.

Had gum grafts done for 5 teeth and it went super well! I was really nervous beforehand but Dr Weinstein and Megan (assistant) made me feel very comfortable and did a great job on the procedure. The grafts healed within 2 weeks and look great. Would definitely recommend for anyone with dental anxiety or worried about gum recession.

Unfortunately this visit triggered some past medical trauma for me. They are not aware of that because I went into freeze mode and kept it hidden. I know it was not intentional, and they did their best to be friendly and professional. I had to have photos of my entire mouth taken. The procedure was awkward and uncomfortable, which the person doing it acknowledged. At one point a mirror that was too large for my mouth was inserted into my mouth. I was obviously uncomfortable. The person doing it said, "I'm sorry, that mirror is too big!!" and I said, "Oh, that's terrible, you'd think they'd make smaller mirrors, for different sized mouths, right?!" (I was trying to be nice and let them off the hook). They replied, "oh, yeah, they do...I just didn't have that one ready to use right now." In my head, I'm thinking, so you do have smaller mirrors but you chose to jam that one into my mouth instead? To add insult to injury, they then said, "Your mouth is so small!" and that was the triggering part (blaming ME for my discomfort). How about saying something like, "let me try and find a piece of equipment that will work better for you, OK?" instead.

I was recently seen by Dr. Nguyen at Advanced Perio for removal of a failing dental implant. He and the AP staff were absolutely first-rate. Friendly, caring and highly skilled professionals, and amazingly adept at their work. What could have been a traumatic, painful ordeal turned out to be quite a smooth procedure. And recovery has been a breeze. Highly recommended!

My husband was referred here by his dentist. He went here just for an exam. The office told him that the exam would be covered 100% -80%. Turns out the exam was not covered. They were not upfront about the fact that they are out of network with all insurance companies. The insurance only covered $40 for a simple exam. This place is not upfront and honest about their policies and when I asked they told me it’s all written on their website. I don’t care if it’s written on the website or now they need to let people know ahead of time they are out of network. I’m very disappointed in this place and my husband won’t be going back here.

They really need to disclose their predatory billing practices PRIOR to scheduling or, at the very least, prior the conducting the evaluation that they charge for. This is such a dishonest way to operate. Now, I'll be getting a bill for a completely pointless evaluation and am stuck trying to find a new perio who will certainly require their own evaluation before starting treatment so my treatment has just been set back months. I'll be letting my dentist know to stop referring patients here!

Last Spring had a gum graft procedure at Advanced Periodontics, and I was genuinely impressed by the entire experience. Dr. Kaminsky and her well-honed team are phenomenal.What truly set this experience apart was Dr. Kaminsky's commitment to find the best solution for my particular case. Instead of immediately opting for the typical surgical approach, she proactively investigated whether an alternative strategy would be possible that could improve my outcome and recovery experience. This led her to find that it would be possible to take the tissue for the graft from an area near where I previously had wisdom teeth, rather than the roof of my mouth, as usually required. The result was a remarkably smooth and fast recovery with essentially no pain.Throughout the process, I felt well-informed and engaged. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

My dentist, Dr. Sekijima, referred me to Dr. Boyapati for tooth resorption. (She told me how great Dr. Boyapati is and I trust anything Dr. Sekijima tells me because she’s an amazing dentist.) As a rule, I wouldn't call 'having a tooth extracted' a great experience. But, Dr. Boyapati and the entire staff—including her surgical assistant Jessica—really made it into one.Their offices are easily accessible downtown with lots of parking. Everyone is friendly, kind, professional, understanding, and very aware of the fact that this kind of procedure is SCARY. To that end, I am very delighted that they offer a menu of different sedation options, ranging from nitrous oxide all the way up to full sedation with an anesthesiologist.Personally, I opted for oral sedation, which requires you to have someone drive you to and from the appointment, but otherwise was easy as can be. I was completely numb and totally blissed out the entire time, and never experienced any real pain from the procedure.I hope I never have to have another tooth extracted, but if I do, I will definitely go back to Advanced Perio.

Great experience from the front office all the way to the doctors!I am an anxious patient with white coat syndrome so I especially appreciated Crystal's caring bedside manner. She gently and accurately communicated each and every step. I have had a few cleanings here and every hygienist exceeds and goes beyond any expectation. Most recently I saw Lisa for my cleaning and she was very professional and made me feel comfortable. The dental assistant Rosa took some X-rays which I’m usually not a fan of but she made it go so smoothly!
